Trading Hours. As mentioned in previous lessons, binary option brokers offer a variety of binary options, including, currencies, shares, commodities, and indices. Each of there binary options can have different trading hours. Sam gives an insight to the trading hours of each of these different binary options. BO113 Lesson – Trading Hours Transcript. Binary Options 113, Trading Hours. As mentioned in previous videos, binary option brokers offer a variety of binary options which can include shares, commodities, indices, and Forex, or currencies. Each of these binary options are priced according to the underlying asset. So each had different trading hours. For example, shares listed on the London Stock Exchange will be traded during UK trading hours whereas shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange or Tokyo Stock Exchange would obviously have different trading hours. Even though commodities can be listed on the same exchange, each commodity can have its own individual trading hours. And indices, the same with shares, have trading hours according to their geographical location. And I’ve listed shares, commodities, and indices under Group 1 for trading hours, because all of these binary options have their own individual trading hours. Binary option brokers should have information on their websites detailing trading hours for each binary option.
Forex, or currencies, are slightly different. Hence, I’ve listed Forex under Group 2 ? or a ? different group to shares, commodities, and indices– the reason being the currency markets are pretty much traded 245. The currency markets or Forex markets open 9 o’clock GMT Sunday evening and close 9 o’clock GMT Friday evening, or open Sunday afternoon in the United States and close Friday afternoon in the United States. Let me give you more detail to the trading hours of the Forex markets. We can break down a 24-hour Forex trading day into four major sessions– the Sydney session, the Tokyo session, the London session, and the New York session. In this table, I have added the opening and close to each session. And the opening and close is displayed in EDT and GMT. It’s important to note that these hours are the summer hours and at different times of the year, trading hours for each session may be slightly different due to daylight savings. You’ll notice that one market doesn’t close and another one opens. And we have these four block-like trading sessions. Rather instead, these sessions overlap. And that is generally where markets are most volatile or there is great price movement. For example, if we look at the Tokyo session, while the Tokyo session is open, the Sydney session is also open. And as we come to the end of the Tokyo session, the London session is open.
Obviously, the more sessions that are open at a particular time, the more people may be trading. Hence, the greater price movement when sessions overlap. This bottom table ranks price movement for three of the main currency pairs per session. The EuroUSD, the pound against the dollar, and the dollaryen. You’ll notice that the London session is ranked first for each of these currency pairs with regards to price movement, because there is greater price movement in the London session for these three pairs than the New York session and the Tokyo session. If we look at the London session, you’ll notice in summer hours there is an hour overlap between the Tokyo session and the London session. But more importantly, for nearly half of the London session, the New York session is also open. Even though greater price movement occurs in the London session, that’s not to say the Tokyo session or the New York session are not good sessions to trade. But on average, the London session has greater price movement. Trading Market Hours & Schedules.
Know when you can trade online. Although binary options are a global trade, not all assets will be available all the time. Be sure to check carefully when the financial markets for your chosen assets are open to trade. As much as we wish we could get up when we want and start trading in the assets we like, the markets aren’t always accommodating. It’s up to you to find out the optimum time for you to trade in the assets of your choosing. This is why we’ve written more information on market hours below, and given you a live market widget which will show which of the main markets are open at any given time. The Foreign Exchange Currency Market (FOREX) The closest thing to a market you can trade in anywhere at any time, FOREX operates 24 hours a day, but only for four and a half day’s a week. As the FOREX market isn’t limited by physical trading exchanges, this market has the most trading hours of all. The four major FOREX financial centres are Sydney, Tokyo, London & New York, but some brokers will also have Hamburg as an option. The Opening hours are: Sunday 10:00 PM (22:00) GMT running continuously until Friday 10:00 PM (22:00) GMT.
So if you live in New York (GMT-5) daily trade starts at 5:00 PM (17:00) local time, and ends at 5:00 PM (17:00) the day after. That said, a good little tip is that if you are based in the Eastern Time zone, you are not restricted to these hours, as the first four hours overlap with the last four hours of the London market session and therefore there is a high volume of trading within these four hours. Leading to high price volatility, and with it, plenty of binary options opportunities. Whilst you can clearly trade in any market, there is no denying that the activity on the US stock market leads to the best chance for price swings. The U. S. stock market trading hours are 8:30 A. M. to 4 P. M. EST, however, it is not uncommon to see price activity fall to very low levels from 12 P. M. to 1 P. M. EDT when traders break for lunch. Morning, before lunch, is when you’ll see the highest price activity. Any asset based on the DJIA and NYSE stock indices, will be subject by the stock market hours above. However, in many cases the time may be shorter, so always check with your binary options trading broker to find out when you can trade in your favourite or chosen assets. More binary options tools. Published on December 13, 2015. Small investors can get much greater returns on their investments by using Binary options rather than traditional investment vehicles, here we explain how and why. Trading stock prices with Long Term binary options.
Binary options have often been viewed as a very short term trading tool – with trades lasting just a few minutes or hours. This was not helped by brokers promoting these types of trades above others. It is however, possible to trade over much more familiar timescales for small investors, and there are huge advantages to doing so. Most investors who trade stocks and shares, take a reasonably long term view on their positions. Perhaps a few months, or even years. Binary options can be used over exactly the same timescales. The majority of brokers will offer ‘Long term’ options. What actually represents “long term” differs between brokers, but traders can certainly take a position on a share price for one, three or even six months. Some brokers allow trades to go well beyond a year. So Binary Options can be traded over the same timeframe as traditional investments, but the returns from a binary option will be much greater – as is the level of risk management. This is best illustrated via an example Two traders intend to buy shares in BT, both are confident the value will rise over the next three to six months . The first trader buys £1000 of BT shares, at a price of 480. To buy and sell the shares costs a total of £20 for the purpose of this example, including any margin or spread. The second trader uses a binary option, with a ‘buy’ at 480, for just £100. There are no fees with the option.
Let us look at how both choices perform, both when the trade moves in the right direction – but also when it moves against the traders Our first trader would not generally contemplate losing the entire investment – it could have happened, but it was very unlikely. Even so, £1000 was effectively put at risk. In a falling market, the losses were still significant. The fees have a significant impact when the investment is around this level. Our second trader, using a binary option, knew at the outset that the entire investment was at risk. They only needed to risk a much smaller amount however. When the price moved in the direction the investors thought it would, the returns were far superior for the binary option – even though our example shows gains in the share price of 5% or 10% – very significant price moves over a few months. Any smaller increase would have reduced the returns of the traditional investor – but not for our binary options trader. Holding On to Losing shares. Another advantage of binary options, is in overcoming an extremely common trading habit of many small investors – holding on to falling shares for too long. “ It will come back “, “ If I sell now I just lock in losses ” – there are a whole range of reasons people use for holding on to a tanking share. Binary options remove that issue – if a trader was wrong, the option is lost. They move on to the next trade. In our above example, our traditional trader may have continued to hold after the 5% or 10% drop – and seen them drop even further.
They could also have bounced back of course – but while they wait to find out, the £1,000 is tied up in the position. The losing binary options trader has moved on and still has funds to invest elsewhere. There are, of course, strengths to trading share prices the more conventional way – investors may want to collect dividends, or hold shares for a longer time. They may want to include them in an ISA or pension fund. A more traditional investment would suit those types of investor. Small investors who want to speculate on a particular share price however, should certainly consider binary options, and spend some time researching if they might suit their trading style, and investment needs. Read our in-depth reviews of broker trading platforms to see which offer the best long term trade options. The best (in our opinion) have been highlighted below – but different traders will have different priorities and investment needs, so it is worth checking out the brokers in depth. There is also the choice of opening a demo account – the ideal way to see if trading share prices via binary options can work for you. The shares sharks getting rich preying on British savers: We reveal the binary trading victims - and the ruthless salesmen they blame. By Ruth Lythe for the Daily Mail and Melanie Newman For The Daily Mail 22:11 GMT 01 Nov 2016, updated 10:06 GMT 02 Nov 2016. Two reports of binary trading fraud a day with average loss of £16,000 Firms are free to target British customers but not regulated by Many binary trading firms are based abroad - often in Israel say police Binary trading firm BinaryBook has been targetting UK savers Cancer sufferer John Price, 69, paid £8,000 into account He left hospital with £3,500 left but after a phone call with a 'senior broker' the remaining cash was lost in a series of trades Other BinaryBook investors are taking legal action against the firm Some victims claim to have lost as much as £600,000.
As John Price lay in his hospital bed, his sleep would all too often be broken by his mobile phone ringing. The 69-year-old had been diagnosed with myeloma — a form of bone marrow cancer. Exhausted and drowsy, John would instinctively reach for his phone thinking it might be a relative or friend. But the voice on the end of the line belonged to a smooth-talking salesman representing a company called BinaryBook. The salesman may not have known John was in hospital, but the cancer sufferer was urged to push more of his life savings into an investment known as binary options. BinaryBook is one of scores of websites offering these controversial deals to British customers. Binary trading allows investors to bet on whether shares, currencies, or commodities such as oil or gold, will rise or fall over a certain period of time. Often customers forge a relationship with a personal broker — or 'expert trader' — who will place the bets for them. Trading like this is extremely risky any gains can quickly turn into a devastating loss if the gambles fail. Like many savers, John, a retired tools salesmen from Rutland in the East Midlands, was sold on the promise of high returns when he was cold-called in January 2016. HOW THIS IS MONEY CAN HELP.
John made the £250 initial deposit required to open an account and then, spurred on by some decent wins, he deposited around £8,000 more. It was only when he looked into making withdrawals that he started to be concerned. Having originally understood he could cash out at any time, he experimented by withdrawing small lump sums from his account. This succeeded but, trawling internet forums, he read posts from other binary options investors who had struggled to access their cash. So when a salesman called him on his sickbed this summer about another investment, he said no. By the time John left hospital he had just £3,500 in his account. He asked repeatedly to withdraw the remaining cash, telling staff he could not afford to lose any more money. But emails seen by Money Mail show that BinaryBook refused to authorise a withdrawal unless John accepted a call from a 'senior broker' — who convinced him to keep trading. Within a few hours of talking to the broker, the remaining £3,500 of John's money was lost in a series of trades. 'I am not normally a naive person but they were so persuasive,' he says. A spokesman for the company said that John had made several withdrawals totalling £2,691 and that BinaryBook could 'not be held to be accountable' for his losses. A group of other BinaryBook investors are taking legal action against the firm over accusations that it is ripping off customers around the world. Some victims claim to have lost as much as £600,000.
A joint investigation by Money Mail and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism found that BinaryBook faces accusations from a number of British savers that they were unable to access cash in their accounts. This is just the tip of the iceberg - Det Chief Insp Andy Fyfe. Police say binary option trading is now one of the biggest fraud risks in the UK. The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau's head of crime, Det Chief Insp Andy Fyfe, says police receive two reports of alleged binary trading fraud a day, with the average investor losing £16,000. 'This is just the tip of the iceberg,' he says. Many binary trading firms are based abroad — often operating from Israel, according to British police. Although the firms are free to target British customers, they are not regulated by City watchdog the Financial Conduct Authority. This means savers have nowhere to turn if they wish to make a complaint. Typically, investors are lured in by a marketing call or email. Once they've deposited the initial £250, they usually receive further emails and calls from staff who persuade them to invest more. This is precisely where savers start to lose control of their cash.
Most are asked to sign forms that authorise the company to take money directly from their bank accounts. We may have lost our £5,000 life savings. Frank and Christine Thornburrow fear they have lost their entire £5,000 life savings to BinaryBook. Frank, a former self-employed van driver, visited the BinaryBook website after following an email link from another firm saying that he could 'get rich quick'. The 67-year-old, from Faversham, Kent, was struggling on his basic state pension of £119 a week. He transferred £250 from his Santander current account to his new BinaryBook trading account. The next day Frank checked his Santander balance and discovered that due to BinaryBook, his entire current account of £5,000 had gone. When I saw the £5,000 had gone I thought I was going to have a heart attack. He begged the firm to return his cash, but was told it had already been traded and he could not access it at the time. At this point the story gets even more muddled. A BinaryBook representative said Frank had been given a 'bonus' of £5,000. But there was a catch. Like other investors in his position, Frank was then told he could not withdraw the £5,000 until he had made trades worth £150,000 — or 30 times the bonus amount that was covering his losses. Frank says: 'When I saw the £5,000 had gone I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
I was like a headless chicken. I can't understand how they can take my money like this.' A spokesman replying on behalf of BinaryBook said Frank gave permission for the firm to withdraw £5,000 in a signed form. BinaryBook appears to be part of a group of linked companies. Our investigation traced the firm to Mauritius, Israel, and the Caribbean Island of St Vincent and the Grenadines — which has been labelled by the EU as a secretive tax haven. Most customers appear to deal with one of the company's two operations centres. Customers say they initially invest around £250 on the BinaryBook website or over the phone. A firm in Mauritius called Linkopia appears to be behind the initial drive to sign up investors. Customers who have deposited cash are often passed on to a firm called Yukom in northern Israel. Pictures of Yukom workers posted on Facebook show young employees, most of whom look in their 20s or 30s, dressed fashionably while posing and pouting in restaurants and nightclubs.
A whistleblower who worked at the firm describes an adrenaline-fuelled sales culture. He says young employees are offered a good salary and staff are paid more if they perform well. In June last year, a photo posted on Facebook showed a group of Yukom employees being rewarded with BMWs, presented to them wrapped in ribbons. And last year a group of 30 employees was taken on a trip to the Greek island of Rhodes. A video on Facebook shows workers lounging in their swimwear and partying in nightclubs and bars. One salesman is currently recruiting on Facebook for sales staff 'who love money more than anything'. Another has posted pictures of a Yukom team meal with the caption: 'Killers having lunch.' This is similar language to that used by salesmen to describe themselves in the film The Wolf Of Wall Street, the 2013 blockbuster based on the true story of a U. S. investment firm where young salesmen relentlessly urged customers to put money into risky shares. At one point, Jordan Belfort, the owner of firm, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, describes his employees as his 'killers who will not take no for an answer and who'll not hang up the phone until the client either buys or dies'. This year Yukom bosses took ten employees to a motivational talk by the real-life Mr Belfort in Tel Aviv. The daily operations at the firm are run by a 35-year-old woman called Lee Elbaz. Yukom does not deny that Ms Elbaz was one of those who attended the talk. Daniel, a whistleblower who says he worked for Yukom in 2015, says staff advised customers on trading strategies, carried out deals and managed customer accounts.
He says Yukom workers also had a major say over whether clients could withdraw their cash. 'When a client places a withdrawal request your job as a rep is to discourage that from happening,' he says. 'If the client is really difficult, they get forwarded to the brand manager. The brand managers get bigger salaries if they persuade customers to stay.' On their profiles on Facebook and business networking site LinkedIn, staff at both Linkopia and Yukom describe themselves as brokers and account managers. However, the firms insist their staff have no say whatsoever on whether customers can withdraw cash. They say BinaryBook has performed more than 19,500 withdrawals in the past 12 months, processing each within 24 hours. Both Linkopia and Yukom are owned by the same man — a 51-year-old Israeli called Yossi Herzog — and also provide services to other binary trading firms. Mr Herzog's lawyer says that while the companies provide clients for BinaryBook, staff do not manage customer accounts or stop withdrawals — all decisions are made by BinaryBook itself, which he insists is a different entity. BinaryBook already features on a U. S. government list of organisations authorities believe are 'soliciting and accepting funds from U. S. residents illegally'. In a statement naming BinaryBook as an unregistered operator, the U. S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission says: 'Perpetrators of these unlawful schemes allegedly refuse to credit customer accounts, deny fund reimbursement, commit identity theft, and manipulate software to generate losing trades.' Yet in the UK, the Financial Conduct Authority watchdog has chosen not to act.
Richard Howlett, a London lawyer, has begun a legal battle to shut down BinaryBook and recover customers' cash. He is trying to wind up a UK-registered marketing company called WSB Investment Ltd, which is the name BinaryBook uses in its marketing materials. Mr Howlett was appointed by the liquidator to act for all of WSB's creditors, which includes any investor who has deposited money. He says he has been contacted by people from all over the world, some of whom claim to be hundreds of thousands of pounds out of pocket. Mr Howlett, who works for law firm Selachii, believes his efforts to recover money for customers could open the floodgates to claims from thousands of investors with other binary trading firms. He says: 'I suspect a lot of people do not want to believe they have lost their money.' I suspect a lot of people do not want to believe they have lost their money. In an email statement, BinaryBook said it was not operated by WSB Investment Ltd, but by a parent company of the same name in St Vincent and the Grenadines. 'The UK company has never held or operated BinaryBook's brand or website or engaged with any end user,' it said. For BinaryBook customers such as Dean Brown, from Doncaster, all that matters is getting their money back. The 49-year-old train driver fears he has lost everything to the website and has been forced to take night shifts for extra cash. After stumbling across BinaryBook's slick-looking website, Dean, whose surname we have changed to protect his identity, transferred £250 to his account from his credit card. The next day he received a call from a man called David Brandon, who claimed he owned BinaryBook and wanted to be Dean's personal trader. Mr Brandon spoke with a cockney accent and said he was calling from the Gherkin skyscraper in London.
Dean says: 'He really seemed to know what he was talking about. He asked me how much I spent each month on bills. I told him around £1,400. 'He said that he could easily make that money back for me if I carried on investing with him.' Mr Brandon said the money would be mainly invested in technology stocks such as Apple. At first, Dean's investments appeared to be rising and Mr Brandon would call Dean most days to encourage him to invest more. Dean says he understood he could withdraw the money at any time and managed to take out £4,500 from the £12,000 he had invested. But when he later tried to withdraw the rest, he claims he was told he was not allowed to do so. This was because Mr Brandon had placed 'long-term trades that would not mature for six months', he says. Dean says he tried in desperation to speak to a manager at the firm, but repeatedly failed to do so. 'No normal person can afford to lose £8,000, no matter what they earn,' he says. 'It was money I was hoping to keep for my retirement.' A spokesman for Yukom responded on behalf of BinaryBook to Money Mail's queries relating to the cases of John Price, Frank Thornburrow and Dean Brown. The spokesman said Dean's withdrawal requests were not refused, adding that he'd taken out a total of £4,500 in two withdrawals in October last year, both of which were paid within days. The spokesman said Dean must now wait for the six-month term on his remaining investments to expire to make further withdrawals.
'Binary options may be risky but they are not a scam,' the spokesman said. 'If a person places a trade and loses, he needs to take responsibility for placing the trade.' A separate spokesman replying from a BinaryBook email address declined to comment on links with Yukom and Linkopia. 'It is against our policy to reveal any of our business relationship with third parties andor deal with biased allegations,' the spokesman said. I don’t usually crow about the book on this particular page, but hey, it felt and still feels just as strange and dreamlike as anything else … Sky Before Painting of Sky. “For those of us who write poetry, Stanley Kunitz’s life and his work remind us that although we have been born into an unkind world that tells us to be hard and separate, it is our calling to dance for the joy of survival on the edge of the road. We must have faith that we will change, and yet we must remain modest. Poetry is a necessary and natural phenomenon, neither superior to the work of the tortoise beetle larva nor less wonderful. We must choose love before love story, sky before painting of sky, gentian blossoms before poem, even though those these choices might lead to heartbreak. We must be kind. We must be present. Kunitz reminds us not to neglect the humble life that dies into our poems, and is no less blazingly luminous for being ordinary.” -from “I Dance for the Joy of Surviving: Stanley Kunitz’s Meditations on the Writing Life” by Dante Di Stefano. Writer’s Chronicle, September 2014.

He approached them, and little by little he was led on by the enchanting sweetness of their music and the liveliness of their playing until he had got within their circle. Soon some kind of spell passed over him, so that he lost his knowledge of the place, and found himself in a country, the most beautiful he had ever seen, where everybody spent his time in mirth and rejoicing. He had been there seven years, and yet it seemed to him but a night’s dream but a faint recollection come to his mind of the business on which he had left home, and he felt a longing to see his beloved one. So he went and asked permission to return home, which was granted him, together with a host of attendants to lead him to his country and, suddenly, he found himself, as if waking from a dream, on the bank where he had seen the fair family amusing themselves. He turned towards home, but there he found everything changed: his parents were dead, his brothers could not recognize him, and his sweetheart was married to another man. In consequence of such changes he died broken-hearted in less than a week after coming back.” –As told to John Rhys, author of Celtic Folklore, Welsh & Manx, Volume One (1901) Stock Trading. Stock trading in binary options happens every day—an untold number of equities are traded around the world. This movement causes the value of individual company shares to fluctuate. In an effort to allow traders to capitalize on these fluctuations, we offer binary options on a variety of stocks from worldwide stock exchanges. Stock Trading in Binary Options. Stock trading happens every day as an untold number of equities are traded around the world.
This is probably explained by the fact that they allow people to participate in the highs and lows of the companies they know and love most. Accordingly, the most common stocks offered as underlying assets for binary options are the shares of large, hi-tech companies like Google, and large multinational corporations like McDonald’s, Nike and Barclays. By definition, a stock is a share of a given company. When the value of the company rises, it translates to the value of its shares rising. The idea behind offering stock trading in binary options for popular companies is that information and news are readily available on them to help traders make informed trades. In binary options, if a trader places a Put option on a stock like Tesla and the option expires in 2 hours, this means that he or she believes Tesla shares will decrease in value by the end of the next 2 hours. The price only needs to move fractionally higher or lower than the Strike Price for a trade to be profitable. Lucrative Opportunities. The stock market is quite volatile. This creates numerous opportunities for profitable trades as the prices of company shares go up and down. Trading stocks is easy and straightforward. Traders are only concerned with short-term movements in stock prices and do not need to look for trending markets. Low Investment Requirements.
Depending on the tool used, stocks are available for trading with investment amounts as low as $25. The potential payouts are also fixed and are known ahead of time. Widely Available Information. The ease with which stocks can be traded has a lot to do with widely available free information. Just watch out for important events and jump in to trade at the right time. Factors That Influence Stocks. Quarterly Earnings Reports. Four times a year, publicly traded companies are required to report their performance so investors can gauge the financial health of the company and determine whether it deserves their investment. This creates trading opportunities because price volatility is high when firms announce quarterly earnings. For example, if a company delivers quarterly results with better-than-expected earnings, stock prices usually jump. Conversely, if the report is disappointing, stocks tumble. Currency Fluctuations. Earlier this year, Switzerland’s central bank abandoned its policy of holding the value of the Swiss Franc down against the Euro and the currency moved by more than 15% in a day. This caused the stock prices of major Swiss companies including watchmaker Swatch and food multinational Nestle to slump.
This is because as the currency of a country rises, it makes the country’s products more expensive for foreign buyers. As a result, the stock market shows price drops across the board. New Products and Services. Product speculation and announcements create publicity and excitement regarding a company’s future earnings and cashflow. This generally has a positive effect on stock prices unless the product receives negative feedback and a low level of enthusiasm. For example, Apple’s iPod Nano announced in September 2005 caused Apple’s stock price to climb 3.3 percent to close at $69.34. The announcement of Creative’s WebCam Live Motion around the same time did the opposite and stock price of the company dropped. Stocks are just one of the many types of underlying financial instruments you can trade using binary options. It’s most helpful to look at a binary option as a way of trading an asset such as a stock—you can also use it to trade currencies, commodities like gold and oil, and more. How do you trade stocks with binary options, and how does it differ from traditional stock trading and other stock option investments? Binary Options Versus Stocks and Stock Options. Though many people know the basics of how the stock market works, most do not know of the many options available to investors. Included in this are binary options, a higher risk but straightforward alternative to trading traditional stocks and stock options. Below we compare and contrast the similarities and differences between trading stocks and binary options. Price: A Major Difference Factor. Stocks are priced initially based on a number of different factors including how much the corporation is worth and the number of stocks made available to be publicly traded.
Thereafter the market takes control and the current stock price is based on whatever investors are willing to pay for it at that point in time. Stock options give the investor the right to lock in these shares at the selling price for a set period of time. Essentially, it is the right to purchase stocks for that price regardless of whether the stock increases in worth during that period of time. Profit is made by purchasing the option to shares that are expected to increase in price, then turning them over as soon as the expiry period ends. Binary options are quite different. Instead of purchasing a stake in the company, you are essentially betting on the worth of that stake in the company. Since you do not own a share of the company, you cannot profit off of its gains and do not receive dividends. Instead you predict whether the company’s stock price will rise or fall to a certain point and bet accordingly. The advantages in doing this are the fact that you have the ability to bet on the stocks of a company or other asset that is out of your price range if you wanted to purchase shares. For example, shares in Apple are currently quite expensive relative to other stock prices and, as such you may not be able to afford the amount you would prefer to purchase. Instead, by trading Apple binary options you do not have to pay the stock price, simply the cost of the option. Although there is risk anytime you are investing, many investors consider binary options to be a higher risk style of investment compared to traditional stocks and stock options.
With a stock, if the price after purchase begins to fall, you can hold on to the stock for as long as necessary, in the hope that it will eventually begin to rise again, enough for you to recoup your initial investment, or a large percentage of it. With a stock option, you can choose not to purchase the shares if the price drops and simply forfeit money invested in the option. Alternatively, binary options have a fixed time to expiry and there are typically only two outcomes: in the money or out of the money. Essentially, what this means for investors is that there are fewer possible ways to earn money and more potential for loss. The benefit, however is that the potential returns are much higher. Technique Used in Trading. Often unrealized by investors are the similarities in technique used in investing in stocks, stock options and binary options. If you currently are actively purchasing stocks, then you most likely have a good grasp of the market and how to make wise investments. These skills are necessary for trading binary options and will make the learning process go infinitely faster. By understanding how to read financial statements and charts, you will easily translate this into signals that help you determine when the best time is to buy binary options. Another similarity between traditional stocks and binary options is the different types of assets that are available to trade.
Stocks and stock options can be purchased for a single company, commodity, index or in foreign exchange. This holds true for binary options as well only, as stated previously, you are not holding a share of any of these assets, simply a bet against it. By first becoming familiar with the stock market and how to trade stocks, you will feel more comfortable and have a head start when it comes to trading binary options. Consider the similarities and differences and determine if trading binary options is something that would be attractive to you. Binary Stock Trading vs Traditional Stock Trading. The most basic type of stock trade is where you simply buy and sell stock in a company. Buying stock in a company is essentially a bet that the company is going to do well, and that you’ll later be able to sell the stock at a higher price than you purchased it for, resulting in profit. While it’s possible to short sell stocks, the process is highly convoluted and somewhat risky. This is how most people profit in a bearish stock market, by ‘short selling stocks’. Binary stock trading allows you to bet on whether the price of a particular stock will rise or fall without actually purchasing the stock itself. You can bet the price will go up, and use a ‘call option’ or you can bet the price will go down and place a ‘put option’. With binary stock trading, the magnitude of price movement is not a factor in the amount of payout received on the trade. With binary trading you either win or lose the trade. It does not matter how big of a win you have, your payout is the same as if you squeaked in a 1 pip win.
With traditional stocks the magnitude of movement greatly affects how much money you earn or lose with the trade. Traditional Stock Options vs Binary Options. Traditional stock options give you the right to buy or sell a specified amount of stock at any price and time before the option expires (which we call a “call” or “put,” rather than a buy or sell). With stock options you don’t actually own a piece of the company—a stock option is just a temporary contract, and there is always another trader at the opposite end of your stock option trade. Someone will win and someone will lose. These trades typically appeal to people with less capital they offer a higher leverage than traditional stock trading as well. Binary options for stocks are contracts, like traditional stock options. They have expiration times, just like traditional stock options. You also have the option to call or put, which means you can profit in a rising or falling market. When you take out a binary stock option, however, what you’re doing is betting that the stock will or won’t reach a certain price within the expiration period. If you win the bet, you win the amount of money you invested in it. If you lose the bet, you lose your investment. So you can look at a binary option as a specific type of stock option.
Except instead of making a buy or sell decision during the expiration period, you make your decision when you call or put, and then you wait to see what happens (or get out if you think that is best). With binary options you may be able to enter the market with less capital, as you can with standard stock options, and you may profit in a bullish or bearish market. Trading binary options does include large risks and spreads, however, so you’ll need to account for that when you figure out your bankroll and how you’re going to manage your money. And as with any other type of stock trading, you will need to approach binary options with some kind of solid method in place which has proven results in order to become profitable over the long term. Are binary options right for you? That depends on you—different personalities and budgets may be better suited to binary options trading, standard stock options, or traditional stock trading. NOTICE.
